Out of focus nudity

Nudity has become so easily available nowadays that people seem to have been getting resistant to it. The image of a naked beauty in contemporary consumerist society is being constantly used to sell everything – from toilet paper to cars. As a result nudity has lost its genuine aesthetic qualities and has become a mere tool for capturing buyers’ emotions counting on the activation of sexual instincts and suppressing the antique philosophical meaning attributed to the well shaped human body as an emanation of unity between the outer and inner human selves. My photo series try to explore if nakedness can be perceived in a way different from that of sheer sexuality, and closer to the ancient notion of perfection, and if we are able to capture and respect nude aesthetics in blurred images that only hint on the real bodies’ shapes and contours.
