Medulla from Latin means the core, the essence, the marrow. The form of images and their subject refer to the Dutch still lifes, which are the traditional symbol of immortality. In my work I turn this order, because I show mortal, material layer of objects. This specific ritual of demolish, visualize the materiality of stuffed animals and show their true character. Objectified animals, trophies, are stripped of illusion, but also thanks to deconstruction - released. Deconstruction is also question for the boundary between carnal and spiritual - it’s searching for the essence. Title: Medulla date and place of creation: 2016, Poland
