Pilgrims participating in the ceremony of Acceptance of Jesus Christ as the King of Poland. In November 2016 Catholics from across Poland gathered in Krakow to recognise Jesus Christ as the King of the country. This statement of belief is claimed as fulfillment of will of Jesus, revealed to the Servant of God Rosalia Zelkova (20th century). The act, being a reminder that God is beyond everything, was the announcement of Jesus patronship over Poland, its people and their political leaders. The ceremony was attended by Poland's President Andrzej Duda, and coincided with marking the end of the Catholic Church's Year of Mercy. It also referred to this year’s celebration of the 1050th anniversary of Poland’s Baptism, and contains a profession of faith and renunciation of evil. Back in 1656 King of Poland, John Casimir, declared Mary honorary queen of the country.
