The thin whisper

This series of photographs is the final part of a long-term reportage (ALBANIAS), realized between 2007 and 2015 in Shala valley, northern Albania. I had travelled for seven years in this area documenting life of its mountains and their inhabitants. These people live far from civilization, endure in their perpetual pace and eventually embrace Nature. In 2014/15 I spent the winter in a tiny village (Nemavric) where I documented the daily life of two families, their solitude and deep connection with the surrounding environment. These images can be seen as a chance to understand a world where the time stands still and happiness is shown in the simplest thing.
