A prominent Russian costume designer Ilya Varegin’s creations pay homage to heritage of certain historical periods, at the same time staying relevant at the end of 2010s. This photoshoot, produced around his collection titled "Mart” (The Market) is a story of 5 wandering traders. It is inspired by an early pioneer of color photography in Russia, Sergey Prokudin-Gorskii. The technology he used let him produce color photographs way before color film was invented. In this series, photographer tried to recreate Prokudin-Gorskii’s techniques, and succeeded.
