Red Dirt Inquisition

  • Photographer
    Peter Stitt

The southern landscape has always had a mysterious quality to me. Filled with new and old, rural and urban, there is an esoteric quality that brings countless questions flooding into my mind. The diptychs are composed of details of the southern landscape as I have found it. Through their visual play, I can better express the subtly odd nature and the visual questions this region offers. The landscape of the south is profound and not always as clear as it seems. Yet, like the Red soil underneath the landscape, both its questions and answers are sometimes just as clear as Dirt.
