Utopia was shot in late 2020 on Sand Dunes in Australia via a Drone. I wanted to explore the human condition of our constant strive for perfection. The book "1984" by George Orwell had a significant influence on the concept as I am truly fascinated with the notion of people longing for a perfect society, even though fundamentally, it will never exist. But it is the unseen beauty of imperfection that does make our society truly perfect and whilst I do want viewers to lose themselves in the series, I do want viewers to recognise perfectionism is fragile, distant and ultimately lonely.
