Kusthi is a ancient indian martial art, also popular in Pakistan and Bangladesh. In Varanasi there are various gyms who practice this discipline. The ring, called akhada, is preparated each time before each match following an established procedure (ritual) and it consists in red clay terrain. The athletes, mainly young men, puts in contact with this ancient disciplineaware about the strict rules they will observe about diet, healthy life which does not include alcohol, smoke and sex, to help to increase their interior strenght.
