In the twilight zone where resignation meets the losing of innocence, a girl on the brink of adulthood finds herself oscillating between pain and hope and melancholy and loneliness. Using paintings by the Flemish Primitives as inspiration, I focus on the girls' true emotions and body language that I help trigger during our sustained portrait sessions.
