I have spend a year and a half with the small Inuit community of Inukjuak, Nunavik. The all territory is about same size as France but has only around 14 000 inhabitants. I spend all this time observing the Inuit, their habit, their struggle to survive stuck in between traditional way of life (hunting and fishing) and the modern life. Inukjuak has the highest rate of youth suicide and family violence in all Canada. I have try to give a positive face to this area often view as dead hole by the south workers who comes here to make money but couldn't careless about the Inuit culture.

I have begin taking photos since I was 11, taking my father’s Brownie Super 27 camera, without his permission, to shoot people throwing stones at soldiers in the street of Montreal, during the 1970 October crisis. I found out early that I was more attracted by stories than by simply shooting for the sake of it. Since the 90s I have shot different documentaries covering mainly social or humanitarian issues.
