Everyday life in North Korea has a strong sense of structure and routine. There are few cars in North Korea, so bicycles and the capital city’s trolleybus and metro system are the most common means of transport for North Koreans going about their daily life in Pyongyang. Pyongyang subway is one of the deepest in the world with huge marble column stations featuring propaganda mosaic art murals. The station platforms have newspaper stands for commuters to read the daily news while waiting for their train.
