Photonic is about exploring the enigmatic and emotional qualities of light itself. For this experimental series, I developed various photographic techniques on how to harness light as a sculptural element. Using my own hands, flags and gels, I shape clusters of dispersed light into abstract forms until they resonate with me emotionally. The pieces are created in-camera, without photoshop compositing. I want to offer an alternative perspective on the mysteries that permeate our direct environment, such as something as seemingly mundane and ephemeral as a spark of light.
