I have got unknown social media friend requests many times. I wonder who they are. After checking out their account, I realize they are just “fake” people. Their profile picture is made by “Deepfake” technique, which means deep learning and fake. Based on big data, collecting and analyzing real people face to create fake face. I use the technique to make human face that is never existed and use my own process to make ghost-like, dreamy portrait. For me, the non-existed portrait is like digital ghost. The project aims to explore the modern technology and how it interacts with photography.
